Title: The Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of You and Your Work Life
Author: Donna Sandberg
While blankly staring at my blank Word Document, attempting to WILL my brain into coming up with a post for this week for my Facebook page, it occurred to me that I was trying too hard and that I need to return to the basics. And where the basics, for me, revolve around my anchor and the purpose of my practice, “Integrating who we are with what we do”, I realized that in order to start that ball rolling, to overcome my inertia, this week’s “something to think about” ought to BE about the “… WHO we ARE …”. And then, over the coming weeks we can apply the “Five W’s and an H”, the who, what, when, where, why and how of journalism, to our process of crafting a story of “WHAT we DO”.
Now let’s see, what sorts of questions could lead us to the information we need to tell our stories, questions we can develop over the next few weeks? How about …What is work according to you? When is working to earn a living NOT enough for you? Where would you work if you could work anywhere? Why do YOU work? And, how would you do your job differently if you could do it the way you think it otherwise ought to be done?
Well, that’s a start. This page truly isn’t blank anymore and I’ve got more than enough to think about and work on. Do you?
